TaylorMade Spider ZT Counterbalance – Extreme Stability and Inertia

The Spider ZT Counterbalance model is designed for golfers seeking even greater stability and consistency in their stroke. By utilizing a longer shaft and a heavier head, this construction dramatically increases MOI (moment of inertia), which translates to better ball roll, a cleaner sound, and exceptional feel. This package is engineered to eliminate technical errors and provide unmatched consistency on every putt on the green.

Advanced Spider ZT technologies:

  • Spider Stability (Hybrid Construction): A 303 stainless steel front and a lightweight 6061 aerospace aluminum rear create a foundation with an extremely high MOI. Precise CG (center of gravity) placement and perimeter weighting allow for a smooth, stable clubhead motion, even on off-center strikes.

  • Low-Torque Design: The KBS shaft is directly aligned with the CG, which, along with a 25mm onset, creates a Toe Up orientation. This setup stabilizes the club throughout the entire swing. A special SuperStroke grip supports the natural forward lean of the shaft, minimizing unwanted loft addition at impact with the ball.

  • Improved Sole Camber: The modern, curved sole of the head is designed to ensure the putter sits perfectly on the ground. This facilitates proper ball address and ensures the face is always aimed precisely at the target, regardless of the player's individual style.

  • Premium Milled True Path™ Alignment: The iconic True Path™ alignment system has been reimagined. Precise golf ball-width lines are milled into the steel portion of the head, making centering the putter behind the ball incredibly intuitive and effective.

  • Pure Roll™ Insert: The Surlyn and aluminum insert features grooves set at a 45° angle. This technology forces an immediate forward roll, improving distance control and offering a satisfying feel and sound.

Why Counterbalance?

The Counterbalance version differs from the standard Black version with a heavier head and counterweight in the upper part of the club. This allows for better "disengagement" of wrist action and reliance on larger muscle groups for the stroke, which is key to consistent and confident putting under pressure.
